Following facilities are available at different centres of the PCSIR Laboratories Complex, Lahore:

• The Applied Chemistry Research Centre has well equipped laboratories, functional pilot plants and experimental fields. The centre has sophisticated equipment for analytical services and problem identification. These equipment include: thin layer chromatographic equipment, liquid chromatographs, electrophoresis, ultraviolet infra-red etc and some specialized pilot plants in operation  include: production of dyes, edible rice bran oil, nickel catalyst etc.
  
• The Biotechnology and Food Research Centre has well equipped laboratories, functional pilot plants and an integrated experimental field. In addition to the usual laboratory needs, specialized instruments include: atomic absorption spectrophotometers, HPLC, GLC, visible and UV spectrophotometers, rapid amino acid analyzer, assorted fermenters etc. Full line of facilities are available for complete food analysis covering microbiology and chemical composition. The centre futher has pilot plants for the production of food products, feedstuffs, industrial enzymes, acids and alcohol.
  
• At Minerals and Metallurgy Research Centre has provided the research facilities available for geochemical and mineralogical investigation are: microscopy, geochemical analysis, X-ray crystallography, XRD, thermal analysis / computaion, etc
  Pilot plants facilities for product development and technology promation include: stainless steel recaction vessels, mixers, filter presses, dryers and grinders.
  Cast metal technology (CMT) facilities include: melting and casting of steel, alloy steels, iron, non-ferrous metals, viz., etc
  Mechanical testing facilities include: micro-processor controlled, viz, universal testing machine, impact testing mahine, fatigue testing machine etc.
  
•  Applied Physics, Computers and Instrumentation Centre is equipped with necessary universal function machinery, for the standardization and calibration of different instruments from inside and outside PCSIR. These include calibrator 2444, process calibrator CMM-15, digital multimeter 3150, digital vernier calliper, micro meter, set of gauge block, the length standard, load ring, digital timer, hygrometer, sound level meter 1351 etc
  
• Glass and Ceramics Research Centre is equipped with highly sophisticated instruments and equipped with highly sophisticated instruments and equipment. These are scanning electron mincroscope, thermal analysis units equipment for materials testing and their characterization. This centre is capable of providing assistance and consultancies to related industries in their short and long term projects for the development of new projects, import substitution and trouble shooting.
  
• The Centre for Environmental Protection Studies has the necessary technical manpower and is equipped with laboratory facilities capable of doing instrumental and wet analysis of a variety of solids, liquids and various types of intustrial materials also including minerals, wastes, pesticides, fertilizers, lube and furnace oils and a variety of other materials.    
  
• The Engineering Research Centre is equipped with necessary universals functional machinery, such a CNC milling machine, lathe machine, sheering machine, bending machine, and rolling machine, slop welding arc and gas welding, hydraulic presses, shapers, universal drilling machine etc.
