- IIEE Get
award in IEEE Myron Zucker Undergraduate Student Design Contest.
IIEE PCSIR has become the first ever Pakistani Institute to
get an award in IEEE Myron Zucker Undergraduate Student Design
Contest.
The paper entitled. "Design and Development of In-System
Programmable Industrial Controller (ISPIC)" has been awarded
THIRD (3rd) PRIZE in the IEEE IAS Myron Zucker Undergraduate Student
Design Contest 2004.
For this achievement, the team Members are entitled to receive:
** $400 Cash Honorarium and Certificates for
Students.
** $300 Cash Honorarium and Certificates fro
Students' Academic
Department (IIEE).
** One -year free IAS memberships to Award
Winners.
** Travel expenses $ 2000 per award for award
winners to attend the IAS

2004
Dr. Riazuddin Abro, Officer in-change, PCSIR Labs. Hyderabad, has
been awarded the PAS Gold Medal 2004, in the field of "Engineering &
Technology" in recognition of his outstanding research work in the
subject.
- Chairmanship of
APCTT
The chairman, PCSIR Dr. Anwar ul Haq, has been elected as the chairman of the
Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) of UN-APCTT for a period of one year.
- GB meeting
of APCTT
The APCTT have agreed to hold the meetings of 2005 of its Technical
Advisory Committee (TAC) & GB in Pakistan.
- APCTT hold two
International Workshops in Pakistan:
The APCTT has agreed to hold two international workshops in Pakistan next
year. The probable topics of the workshops are :

The chairman, PCSIR, Dr. Anwar ul Haq inaugurated the Clinical
Diagostic Laboratory at PCSIR Laboratories Complex, Karachi.

Confers Shields of Appreciation on Scientists
In recognition of the valuable services of Dr. Nighat Afza, PSO and
Mr Aleem Ahmed, SSO of PCSIR Labs. Complex Karachi in the field of Science
& Technology, Chairman, PCSIR, Dr. Anwar ul Haq conferred "Shields of
Appreciations" on both the scientists in an august gathering.
- Grant of Research
Productivity Allowance
Eleven Scientists of PCSIR have been granted Research
Productivity Allowance in recognition of their quality research work by
Ministry of Science & Technology.
- Award of
Accreditation to PCSIR Labs.
We are pleased to announce that in a recent meeting of Lab. Accreditation
committee of Pakistan National Accreditation
Council (PNAC), following two units of Pakistan Council of
Scientific and Industrial Research (PCSIR) have been recommended for award of
Accreditation against ISO17025.
This award shows the confidence that the services offered by these
Laboratories / Units are credible & according to the applicable
international standard i.e. ISO17025 and will lead the country a step forward
to overcome TBT and meet WTO challenges. These are the first Labs. in Pakistan
accredited by PNAC or any foreign accreditation body.

including Cola :
PCSIR Labs. Complex, Peshawar sells out its
technology for the preparation of soft drink Concentrates
of Cola, lemonade, Orange & Red herbal Syrup to M/S
MARVA Beverages (Pvt) Ltd.
A contract signing ceremony was held on 20th November, 2003 in
hotel Holiday Inn. Islamabad. The ceremony presided by Prof. Dr. Atta ur
Rahman, Incharge Minister for Science & Technology, was attended by a large gathering
representing various Ministries , public sector & private sector organization.
- ECNEC approves
PCSIR Industrial Linkage Programme:
Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) approves a
project of PCSIR worth Rs. 1.297 billion.
