Applied Chemistry Research Centre was established in 1989 by the up-gradation of Oils, Fats and Waves Division that was setup in 1955 at the Lahore Laboratories of the PCSIR. This Up-gradation was carried out in order to meet the demands of time, taking into its folds the former Pharmaceutical Division. Agro Industrial Division and Industrial Liaison Cell.

Main Areas Of Activities

Research and Development for the utilization of locally available raw materials to substitute the imported products such as agricultural, chemicals, pharmaceutical, catalyst, textile, auxiliaries, detergents, dyes, lubricants, greases, cosmetics, leather and pesticides etc. Advisory and quality control services are also offered to various SMEs / clients in the fields of different areas.

The centre is also playing a vital role in Human Resource Development in the form of provision of guidance and bench facilities to the students of various universities and colleges for the degrees if B.Sc. (Hons). M.sc. B.Sc. (Engineer) M.Phill. and Ph.D.
