Clean Energy
instruments Devices
A). In
order to popularize the maximum use of solar energy for
reducing the load on depleting conventional energy
sources, Research and Development work on the following
projects in the field of Renewable Energy is being carried
on:
i) Designing, Fabrication and commercialization of Solar
Energy Services & Technologies.
ii) Space Heating and cooling of Building by the
Application of Solar Energy.
B). The following Solar devices have been designed,
Fabricated evaluated and ready for commercialization.
These devices of different capacities have been installed
at different places in Pakistan, such as Skardu, Quetta,
Lahore, Thar (Sind), Cholistan(Punjab), Baluchistan
coastal area (Gwadar , and desert border areas(for
Pakistan Rangers).
i).
Solar water Heater.
ii). Solar Cooker.
iii). Solar Dehydrator.
iv). Solar Still.
v). Space Heating and Cooling of Building etc.
These
solar devices will conserve precious conventional energy
sources for other critical uses. In other words by the use
of these Solar Devices, we can save a considerable portion
of foreign exchange spent on the import of oil.

CALIBRATION
PROPERTY
|
|
Objectives
|
|
The
objectives of the Calibration, Standardization and
Physical Testing Laboratory are:
|
- The
precision Calibration Reference Standards (Secondary
Standards) are essential requirement of in-House
Laboratories facilities. Presently such standard
instruments are required by the industry and its
import would require a huge foreign exchange. To save
the foreign exchange and cut down cost, reference
standards of Masses, Length, Volume are made available
at PCSIR Laboratories Complex, Lahore.
- To
conduct the training programs related to metrology and
calibration activities and to establish a regular
training programme on metrology and calibration
activities.
- To
provide cost effective and time saving services to the
industry.
- To
conduct the Research and Development work for
establishing the internationally completed calibration
and standardization techniques.
- To
develop the physical apparatus and test jigs for the
verifications of different commodities, products and
instruments against related standards using preferred
test procedures of PSI, Pakistan, BSL, U.K< JIS,
Japan, DIN, Germany, SASO, K.S.A and ASTM U.S.A.
- To
enhance the calibration, standardization and physical
testing facilities to serve the regional industries.
