Services Division

Brief
Description
|
|
The
General Services Division was established in 1989 by the
merging of Workshop and Civil Engineering Sections. The
main objectives of General Services Division are
Designing, Fabrication, Installation, Commissioning of
pilot Plants and other Equipment for various ADP/In-House
as well as Sponsored Projects in PCSIR Laboratories
Complex, Lahore. The Division has also intiated R&D
Projects and services related to engineering discipline
particularly Computer Aided Design and machine work. In
addition the Division undertakes all type of repair and
maintenance work, civil construction and provision of
utilities services to the Laboratories and the adjacent
residential campus. Recently an Electrical test and
measurement section has been also added to this Division.

Major
Accomplishments
|
|
Beside the
fabrication of various units for ADP/In-House and
sponsored projects, the Division has designed, fabricated,
installed and commissioned various pilot plants for the
ADP/sponsored projects, viz Oxidation of wax for fatty
acids, Rapid hardening cement, Nigrosene pilot plant,
Production of Detoxified Meal, Nickle catalyst, Ziarat
Laterite and graphite project, Chromite project,
Beneficiation of Iron ore, activation of Fuller's Earth,
Electrolytic production of magnesium metal,, Brightening
chemicals p;lroject, Bauxite Project, Silica gel plant,
Guandine nitrate pilot plant and vegetable dehydration
plant. In addition, the Division has fabricated Fermenter,
Shaker, Vessels, Tanks, Fish Feed Extruder, Open pan
Condenser, Moulds, Steam generators, Belt conveyor,
Centrifuges, Heat exchangers and various process
equipment.
The
Division has also provided various engineering services to
private and public sector organization, such as M/s.
Veterinary Research Institute, University of the Punjab,
Bahauddin Zakariya University, Fisheries Department and
Training Institute Manawan, Agriculture Research Council ,
M/s SUPARCO M/s. PARCO, M/s.MIRDC ,M/s. Renacon Pharma,
Multi Enterprises.
The Electrical Test and Measurement Section is fully
equipped to carry out test and performance. Analysis of
following low voltage domestic and industrial electrical
products in accordance with National and International
Standards laid down by PSI, BSI, JIS, KSI, SASO. IEC, etc.

In
addition to above, consulting services are also being
rendered to both public and private sectors to establish
facilities for standardization of electrical products
including design optimization. Specialization in the
development of Fan Testing Chambers according to National
and International Standards is a feature of the section.
