The Honorable Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Senator Shibli Faraz, visited PCSIR Laboratories Complex, Karachi on Friday,
08^th October 2021. Dr. Shahnaz Perveen (T.I), Director General, PCSIR Laboratories Complex, Karachi, alongwith Dr. Atiq-ur-Rehman, Director (Planning & Development) and senior management welcomed the Honorable guest.

The Honorable Federal Minister visited different centers of PCSIR Labs. Complex, Karachi and discussed about on-going research projects, available testing facilities, achievements, performance, strength, weakness and current activities of PCSIR Laboratories Complex, Karachi. He also visited the cannabis (Hemp) laboratory and inquired about the extraction of CBD oil.

The Honorable Federal Minister emphasized on the meaningful research particularly related with public health improvement. He also urged the researchers of PCSIR, Karachi to develop value added products with viable business plan and marketing strategy to attain self-sustainability of the Council. He stressed upon to equip the laboratories with state-of-the-art equipment and human resources, so that the industrial sector could be facilitated to compete in global market with quality products.

At the end, the Honorable Federal Minister appreciated the efforts of PCSIR researchers and assured his full cooperation for the betterment of S&T infrastructure in the country. As per tradition, the Federal Minister also planted a sapling in the vicinity of KLC.
